After the Court ruling that Greenpeace had violated property and privacy, handed down on July 26, 2006, the association has re-offended.
Last night an organised commando of reapers attempted a “full scale” plan targeting a GM plot belonging to one of the two farmers who, the day before, had succeeded in having a court order taken out against the association. Greenpeace’s childish reaction was to go off and cut a cross-shaped swathe in the field, now “immortalised” by a famous photographer. Such underhand and illegal methods cannot be allowed to continue.
AGPM stresses that these crops are totally legal and has spoken out against such acts of vandalism targeting farmers and their property, and showing utter disrespect for their work.
AGPM regrets that different players in the economy, in whatever area of work, cannot do their job in dignity and freedom, and with due safety.
AGPM has reiterated its unstinting support for the farmers who have been victims of these offenders and has called for the law to be enforced.
