ORAMA wishes to express full solidarity with the company Biogemma, after the destruction of GM maize on two experimental plots on the property of a farmer in Malintrat (Puy-de-Dôme).
The destruction of a trial for the development of a drought-tolerant form of maize means that the offenders responsible for this have attacked a project for farming with less water, designed in response to increasing demand for grain in all countries.
The return of the destroyers of GM maize trials, undermining the work of a research group in France that is one of the world leaders in this area, means they are continuing to support the domination (that will be total domination one day) by US/UK seed companies.
France’s new government must react firmly and assert its authority to ensure laws are enforced and respected, protecting the work of researchers and companies and respecting private property.
