Hungary is the second-largest maize seed producer and the fourth-largest maize grower in the 27-member European Union.  With the focus on this key player, the FNPSMS has been monitoring technological, economic and regulatory conditions, and has been doing so since 2001, holding regular discussions with local operators.  The Hungarian seed association (HSA), which plays an active role in the work of the European Maize Production Confederation (CEPM), is one of our key contacts.
